Pictures: Westfield FW 300 (Le Mans Classic)

In the small world of minimalist and ultra sports car, you have names such as Lotus, Caterham, Donkervoort or KTM. However, do not forget a more or less distant cousin of the Lotus 7: Westfield FW300. A device that stands out above all of its competitors by mechanics that is under the long hood.

The Westfield is one of the countless small English trays sold rather nice prices saw the proposed performance. Alongside the Caterham and Lotus, the Westfield is an object somewhat apart although very similar in terms of style to others what kind of cars in England. Unique exhaust side, right side, friendly face and total lack of comfort (doors are optional ...) bring us into a world where the only important thing: drive.

Or rather steer in this case. Under the hood of this Westfield lies the 1.6 turbo four-cylinder Opel Corsa OPC with 192 hp. Not much, you say? Tell yourself that this machine weighs only 650 kg all wet. This gives us a final weight / power ratio of 3.3. There, it begins to "cause"!

As explained above, it is steering it matter since the recipe is radical: Ultra Short leadership, no ESP or ABS, nor brake assist, must use his stumps and press hard on the pedal, but not too much, or risk seeing a nice wheel lock and the famous shot racket. In any case this, the recipe for happiness on track: forget the horses, the max speed and all these figures, the pleasure lies in the simplicity.
